For residential properties the value of any compensation due is the effect of a new development upon the market value of the property. We believe that for a number of properties near Farnborough Airport compensation could be acheived. For instance, residents near to Leeds-Bradford airport each obtained £2,000 due to the effect on property prices of an increase in the weight of aircraft permitted to use the airport. Some claims at Farnborough arising from the new airport could well be substantially higher than this.
